NCDOT has broken ground on the $1.8 billion I-26 Connector project in Asheville, aiming to improve safety reduce congestion and enhance regional connectivity. Scheduled for completion in 2031 the project includes new interchanges bridges and multi-use paths to better serve drivers pedestrians and cyclists in western North Carolina.
