TxDOT is widening nearly 20 mi. of U.S. 87 in Hartley and Moore counties from two lanes to four to improve safety and increase capacity. The $99 million project includes new lanes, drainage upgrades, and road rebuilding, benefiting heavy truck traffic. Construction began in February 2026 and is expected to finish by 2030.
