Skip to main content Advertisement Advertisement For the second time in as many months, a significant downtown Roswell project has officially launched construction in an effort to boost walkability and increase centralized attractions. Atlanta-based developer Atlantic Companies has closed on construction financing and started development of Hillrose Market, a new 7-acre, mixed-use neighborhood across the street from Roswell City Hall that’s been described by city leaders as a “once-in-a-generation opportunity.”Hillrose Market’s construction follows another downtown groundbreaking last month for The Chambray, a restaurant-topped Hyatt hotel concept that will rise next to the new, multifaceted Southern Post development. Atlantic Companies recently finalized private financing with SouthState Bank and a revenue bond by the Roswell Downtown Development Authority, allowing construction to proceed. The developer’s timeline calls for delivering the project in the second half of 2027. Hillrose Market’s residential component will include 16 upscale, brownstone-style townhomes and what’s described as 143 “luxury rental flats with resort-style amenities.”Elsewhere, plans drawn up by the ASD/SKY architecture firm call for a six-building, 75,000-square-foot retail village around a central greenspace, a high-visibility office building at the corner of Atlanta Street, and an adaptive-reuse, mixed-use hub (with ground-floor retail and a second-floor workplace) made from the former Roswell ...
