Any opinions on a companion piece to a 1.8 ton excavator?

I own a 1.8 ton excavator (similar to the one in the pic. I don't have a picture of it to hand) And I'm looking to get a companion piece of some sort. I was thinking either a skid steer or a mini dumper of some sort. While I can imagine what I want from a mini dumper, I haven't really found anything that feels right.
