Detached pole style garage details Emel | Posted in General Questions on March 21, 2026 10:11am We are having a pole building built to use as a detached garage. Central WI and our contractor plans to wrap the wood beam exterior with Kimberly Clark house wrap (stapled and seams taped), then screw the 3’ wide corrugated sheets over that. We plan to keep the interior uninsulated for now, but want the future possibility to insulate with Rockwool. My questions is, does this plan for the exterior sound ok as I know for homes in our region the vapor barrier is recommended in the inside and for our actual home we used intello. Since it’s a garage and pole building, I’m hoping we don’t have to be as specific and that the way the builder has planned will work? also, if we do insulate in the future, should we use a non-breathable vapor barrier on the inside at that time since the outer layer was Kimberly Clark?
