Job Summary
The Construction Manager is responsible for coordinating construction activities on the project, ensuring compliance with schedule, safety, cost, and quality standards in conjunction with the Project Field Manager.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate site construction teams and provide necessary means, methods, and staffing for Transmission Lines and substations.
- Develop and maintain safety programs in collaboration with the EH&S group.
- Establish construction procedures and quality programs for Transmission Line work.
- Identify and support sourcing of tooling and equipment for Transmission Line installation.
- Assist in project proposals, including staffing and cost estimates.
- Lead design constructability reviews and support subcontract developments.
- Participate in project risk reviews and develop mitigation plans.
- Monitor construction productivity, progress, and costs, reporting to management.
- Ensure all resources needed for the project schedule are available on site.
- Review timesheets, quantity reports, and progress payment requests.
- Develop Job Hazard Analysis for major erection packages.
- Support commercial recovery processes and adhere to safety and quality standards.
- Engage in continuous improvement efforts.
Requirements
- Transmission construction experience required.
- Substation construction experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in construction or engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience as a Construction Manager or above.
- 8+ years of Transmission Line Construction experience with a degree, or 18+ years without.
- Knowledge of project budget processes and tools.
- Experience with risk assessment and management.
- 10+ years of construction supervisory experience required.
- OSHA Training required.
- Ability to meet pre-employment onboarding requirements.
