Supervisor, Construction Project Manager (DMA #10111094)

$44.98 - $71.96 Hourly $93,552 - $149,683 Annually This position is a Pay Band C12 Posting Details This position supervises the Construction Project Management team, that supports the Department of Military Affairs (DMA) with federally funded construction projects. DMA is responsible for the readiness of the NMARNG by providing professional guidance, leadership, project management advice and action. Interviews are anticipated to be conducted within two weeks of closing date. Why does the job exist? This position plans, directs, or coordinates personnel and activities concerned with the design and construction and maintenance of commercial or industrial structures, facilities, and systems. Participate in the conceptual development of construction projects and oversee their organization, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation. Supervise a team of Construction Project Managers and their assigned projects. How does it get done? Directly supervises the work of assigned staff and management employee performance and conduct, performance evaluations, and addresses performance issues. Plan, organize, or direct activities concerned with the construction or maintenance of structures, facilities, or systems. Inspect or review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, or other adopted regulations. Oversee work activities specific to the various components of the project, such as , HVAC, plumbing, electrical and structural elements of the project. Manage of contractual and financial responsibilities of project. Prepare, manage and oversee contract documents, negotiate and recommend revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements. - Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports, or cost tracking reports. Who are the customers? DMA Management and Staff, New Mexico National Guard and the citizens of the state of New Mexico. Ideal Candidate 1. Supervisor/Management experience to include desirable experience in performance management and development. 2. 10+ years of experience in project management including design, implementation, and conclusion of project. 2. Experience initiating contracts and agreements. 3. Must possess strong multi-tasking and good communication skills. Minimum Qualification Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Architecture, Civil or Structural Engineering and ten (10) years of experience in architectural design, project management or construction management. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling fourteen (14) years may substitute for the required education and experience. Employment Requirements Employment is subject to background check and is conditional pending results. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License with no limitations or restrictions. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment. Working Conditions This job is both in the field and office settings. Office setting creates exposure to Visual/Video Display terminal (VDT) and extensive computer and telephone usage with extended periods of sitting. Field setting require traversing uneven terrain, climbing ladders, walking on roof tops, and regular travel throughout the state to initiate and oversee projects. Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
