I’m going to have a 12x18 covered porch built on my house by a local contractor. Two posts, hip roof, framed into house. What beam size do you think is needed for the long span as shown by the red arrow. I don’t ever want it to sag. Is a 3.5’x11.25x18’ lvl beam enough? Posts will be 6x6.
