CRIMEAfter Columbus crash kills construction worker, company offers reward for info Bethany BrunerColumbus DispatchMarch 5, 2026, 2:10 p.m. ETA local construction company is offering a $100,000 reward for information in a fatal hit-and-run.The crash killed 25-year-old construction worker Jordan Thomas on February 28.Authorities are searching for a maroon, early 2000s model Toyota sedan that fled the scene.A local construction company is offering a $100,000 reward for information about the car and driver involved in a Feb. 28 crash that killed a worker.The crash occurred around 2 a.m. Feb. 28 in a construction zone on Interstate 70 near State Route 315 close to downtown Columbus.The car involved, identified as an early 2000s model maroon Toyota sedan, was headed west on Interstate 70 when it struck a generator and then one of the constructions workers. The car then fled the scene.That worker, identified as 25-year-old Jordan Thomas, died from his injuries at the scene.Koosing Construction, where Thomas worked, is offering a $100,000 reward through Central Ohio Crime Stoppers for information about the vehicle and the driver involved in the crash that leads to an arrest.Anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers at 614-461-TIPS or email a tip in online at www.stopcrime.org.
