Cold spots on thermal imaging kickstarter | Posted in General Questions on February 28, 2026 06:19pm Any ideas what could be causing these large cold spots on thermal imaging? The picture shows the edge of an upstairs room. In the attic above, there is visibly plenty of insulation in these spots. There is batt insulation with blown in fiberglass on top of it. The baffles are Styrofoam and go from edge to edge between the trusses. The gap at the bottom of the baffle has rolled up fiberglass batt acting as a plug to block the blown in from falling into the soffit. The edges of the walls in the rest of the upstairs all look fine. It’s just this one wall with multiple “problem” areas. The only thing that is different on this wall is the baffles have fiberglass plugs at the bottom. The remainder of the house has cardboard baffles that fold down onto the attic floor, so no plug is required.
