Metal building insulation bonusroom1 | Posted in General Questions on April 3, 2026 06:37am Hello Im in chapel hill nc zone 3 Im looking into insulating 30x40x12 metal building shop it has 2.5 inch metal framing i have been quoted 2 inch closed walls and ceiling about 7k my other option is fiber faced polyiso in (2 )1.5 inch layers 3 inches total off setting seams for 2700 dollars. Could I install first layer flush with framing members leaving 1 inch cavity and install second layer over framing to address thermal bringing?
