Unconventional advice you’ve received?

What’s some advice you’ve received in the industry that wouldn’t be taught in trade schools or any type of legitimate training? I got this one from a framer buddy. He said “never fall, always jump” as in if you’re ever in a position where you’re going to fall off of a ladder or a roof, whatever, jump before you fall. That’ll allow you to pick your spot and more likely to land on your feet and control the fall better. I ended up using that years ago, started slipping off of an icy single story...
